Code, creativity, and +25 years in the craft
About me
Hi! My name is Jonás and I enjoy building things that live on the internet.
My interest in web development started back in 2000, when I decided to look into, out of curiosity, how websites were built. At the time I worked as an IT technician for a communications services company.
Besides setting up infrastructure for phone and internet call shops, I also managed one of these venues myself.
Most of the time I had to sit at a computer to help customers, and I used that time to start learning the ins and outs of how a website works.

I love building user interfaces (UI/UX): laying out and designing the app's environment with animations and transitions, applying the latest interface design trends with HTML, CSS and JS.
Although I'm comfortable with several libraries and frameworks, I try to build apps with vanilla code whenever I can — that way I stay on top of the new features being added to the languages themselves.
What am I working on now?
I'm working on several projects, both personal and just for fun. After spending a few years learning and building apps with two frameworks, SvelteKit and Astro, and feeling comfortable with both, I decided to get started with Tauri, a Rust-based framework for wrapping web apps to ship them as mobile or desktop applications.
Now I can build cross-platform applications without having to dive into each operating system's specific language: the same code runs on the web, mobile and desktop, which makes maintaining and updating the apps easier and more scalable.
I also keep developing and maintaining my WordPress theme Lienzo, compatible with the block-based Gutenberg template editor, for several companies — including ENFAF. This theme makes it quick and easy for editors with no coding background to design and build pages, with plenty of drag-and-drop blocks and lots of customization options.
Right now I'm finishing my first mobile and desktop app, Facturapp, built for freelancers looking for private software to manage clients and invoices. And, just for personal enjoyment, I'm learning C++ for Unreal Engine and GDScript for Godot, two game development engines.
